ML¯I support everyone's freedom of speech.  That doesn't mean that I
ML¯support a perversion of the First Amendment.

ML¯Good grief, Keith.  Do you really believe that ACLU is truly
ML¯interested in our God-given rights?  If you do, then I have some
ML¯beach front property in Arizona to sell you.
They certainly have a very ODD track record, and it's hard to
completely vilify the group.  They HAVE in recent memory championed
a -=few=- conservative causes, although supporting those cases could
have easily been in the ACLU's interest, and have something to do
with their long range goals.  However, for the most part, they do
seem to have an extreme liberal/socialist slant to when it comes to
picking the causes they wish to support...

ML¯ACLU is being vilified because ACLU picks and chooses cases that
ML¯repulse most rational and moral Americans and ACLU chooses to
ML¯pervert the original intent of the Founding Fathers.
Such as their interpretation of the First Amendment to make "Freedom
of Expression" equal to "Freedom of Speech", and then leave wide
open to any wacko's interpretation exactly WHAT "Freedom of
Expression" is?
ML¯ACLU ignores many cases that are important to maintaining
ML¯individual freedom and inalienable rights.
Simply put, they want NOTHING to do with insuring individual
freedom.  Such a concept is an anathema to them.  As for inalienable
rights, they are only interested in maintaining them -=IF=- they are
in a position to define what they are...
ML¯Answer me this:  If the ACLU is merely supporting the Bill of
ML¯Rights, then why does the ACLU unequivocally ignore the erosion
ML¯of the Second Amendment?  Why does ACLU ingore the Tenth
ML¯Amendment?
Simple!!!  Those two Amendments, more than any other, go to the
heart of a citizen's rights to tell the Government to take a flying
leap!!!  AND, of course, that's something that the ACLU is dead set
against.  They are in the business of re-writing the Constitution
one article at a time until it has become the Socialist manifesto
that they wished it was in the first place...
