Thanks, I had spotted those, but I was put off by the fact that they were
handle-based rather than file-variable based as in old faithful BP7.  I was
hoping someone had found a file-variable-based command.
In their haste to rush Delphi 1 to market, Borland seems to have created a
quagmire mixture of handle-based ("C"-based ?) and and filevar-based file
commands.  Is there any way to convert a handle to a filevar and vice-versa?
(Ultimately, at the DOS/BIOS-call level, they must amount to the same thing.)
