I would not use a permanent point, 'cos if the house burned [for what ever
reason] then the Insurance assessor or the Electric Light Co inspector, might
report "unauthorised, non- complying alteration to house wiring".

WARNING! Ensure it is a multipole switch. Do not just switch the active. And
strongly advise, have the modification checked and certified OK by
esponsible
inspector.
Incidentally, you are unlikely to own enough generator capacity to allow an
*Automatic* transfer. Make it non- auto, and invoke a Manual change AFTER
turning off the electric cooker, dishwasher etc which might otherwise
verload
your generator.
