No I never tried relay races like you said but I did try the 4 player 
split screen and that has to be the most useless feature in the game because 
of the low frame rate, causing the screen to go SOOOOOOO slow!!! I have 
finished the game and even the mirror races... now all i have to do is find 
some secrets... i only know of a couple... such as on the LUIGI trackj there 
is a secret item diamond floating on a balloon.. inside it is always a blue 
shell.  Also on the Luigi track, if you ghet under a certain time ( I forget 
what it is) you race against the course champ.  The best secret I know is on 
WARIOs cousre by doing this you can cut 30 sceonds off your time. You will 
need a mushroom and you must go to the first bump after the start line.  Face 
the wall and use the mushroom...keep hitting the jump button and you may 
clear the fence cutting of about 30 seconds off you time. Wicked huh???
