G'day Bill,

JG>> Thanks, I'll look through it and change it to look as much

JG>> like yours as possible and see what happens.

BG> Watch the paths, and also bear in mind that I'm using Bink 2.50,

BG> which may have slightly different commands or syntax from

 BG> subsequent versions.

Yeah, well, I set mine up as close to yours as possible. No go I'm afraid.
I might grab a copy of Bink 2.50 and see if that works.

BG> Sounds like Paul's modem isn't sending yours an ACK for each

 BG> block.

No, I seem to be getting something back, then mine sends it along again,
but by then his hangs up with 'lost carrier' from what he says. AFA my
modem is concerned, the CD light is still lit.

JG>> After chatting via mail with Paul, it seems that my modem is

JG>> dropping carrier. Either that or his is just loosing it.

BG> More than likely one of the modems is just timing out.

I've gone through the modem manual for mine and all seems to be setup OK.
Lets not forget that this is a Netcom manual and they have a tendency to be
inaccurate.

BG> Check your modem manual - an S register inquiry (S86 perhaps?)

BG> will give you the reason for the disconnect. It may not be your

 BG> fault.

Yeah, it's s42 on mine. I'll have a look next time I try.

BG> Why not try sending a file to another system, anyone who allows

BG> freqs from unlisted systems will do. I bet it works, as I

BG> suspect that the problem may be at Paul's end, even though I had

BG> no trouble sending him a ~400k file recently.

I'll try that soon.
