PC> I posted a message about _beginthread() not working without a call to
 PC> DosSleep(). Well, I've found my problem there too, seems if I call
 PC> WinSendMsg() instead of WinPostMsg() to start the thread, it works!

This cements my theory that you are not looking for race conditions. You
are assuming that things happen in a certain order -- you can not assume
anything when threads are involved; you must _enforce_ (rather than
assume) things.  Use semaphores.

 PC> Now, I have another problem, how can I tell when a program started with
 PC> DosStartSession() has ended?

Use a termination queue.
