Sometimes Lories talk veeeery softly. Sometimes they mumble.
They spend a great deal of time on their backs. When not on their
backs, they seem to hang upside down. When moving up or down, they
LUNGE rather than fly. They crawl into things (cups, paper bags,
etc.). They don't walk. Instead they pop up and down like a windup
toy. Lories are silly birds .
For my inside Lory's cage, I use 'Carefresh' (or any highly
absorbent) litter. The back one-half of the cage is covered with
an un-stiched pillow case. The biggest 'mess' problem (outside of
the cage) I have with the Lory - when eating (and they are NOT
neat eaters), he will flip his head/beak sideways to remove stuck
food. You'd be surprised just how far applesauce can fly.
The only thing I can think of when trying to remove dried applesauce
is superglue .
If you like the birds, you clean up after them. Lories are neat
birds .
