Subject: Help! for a QB to PB conversion - Makegif.zip (0/1)
 
I have been trying (unsuccessfully) to convert a QuickBasic program
into PowerBASIC.   I have done various changes as recommended and the
program compiles - however, when it runs it hangs up the computer!!
 
The program is MAKEGIF which is in the ABC library - I have attached a
ZIPped copy for convenience.  The problem appears to be addressing the
screen.  I have parallel ran the program but start getting
discrepancies on values at that point (from around QB's use of the
SADD function).
 
I have done the things mentioned in the PB manual involving SHARED,
CONS. Have set OPTION BINARY BASE 1.  The SADD function appears to be
equivalent of VARPTR.
 
The QB original uses SCREEN 13 for its example - its a simple
amendment to make it SCREEN 12 and I've tested the change in QB OK.
 
Can anyone out there help me???
