BR> TANSTAAFL will always prevail. To those who feel that work ought
BR> not to be a part of their life, I say 'have at it - but don't expect
BR> me to bail you out.
Okay, I agree with you, but I'm not saying that we should have life without
work, or *I* should have a life without work and you can slave away all day.
I'm saying that work can and should be re-organized so that it is not to kill
yourself all day for the benefit of a rich, pampered CEO.
Which sounds more like laziness/selfishness/whining:
The worker: "I don't want to work 50 hours a week to just barely get by for
my
family at an exhausting job for the rest of my life, I want to share in the
material benefits that my labor produces, rather than having the boss decide,
and end up taking most of it for corporate profit."
The CEO: "I don't want to share the profits of the worker's labor equally, I
want to have total control over it, so that I can have power, influence, a
brand new car, two brand new homes, etc etc."
BR> CHOICES. PRIORITIES. I know plenty of people that can't afford
BR> health insurance but can afford projection TV's and full-boat cable,
BR> can afford to eat out regularly at places that I can't afford, drive
You are saying "choices" but what you mean to say is that "you have no
choice."
In a society that is supposedly the most freedom that humans can ever attain,
there seem to be very few "choices" available.
