I wrote to the Coop a few years ago, pretty much just thanking him for
being the curmudgeonly font of information and commentary he is, and also
mentioned that I personally preferred DA autos. I'd probably as he says,
actually perform a bit better if I went to sa autos and used condition
one, but I'm not about to pay the price in money and time to make the
conversion. Besides, I like being able to adapt to various types of guns
in tense situations. Generalization vs. specialization and all that.
JP>It seems that my correspondent is operating from an unsound base, not
I agree with Jeff on this one 100%. Telling Cooper that what he teaches
is impractical is about the most ignorant/presumptious thing I've heard.

Jealousy. I see it in supposed firearm 'professionals' all the time.
They are not nearly as bad as politicians, but worse by far than most
technical professions I have come across.
I'd welcome anything Jeff Cooper has to say to me at any time. I may not
always follow it, and may occasionally disagree with it as a personal
issue, but I'd hardly deign to think of it as an encompassing wrong.
