 JF> -True 3D
VW> You mean Duke 3D isn't three dimensional?
Technically, no. The engine is only really drawing things at various
angles and checking your position on them. Now with Quake, everything has an
X, Y and Z value in the game space, and is an object into itself.
JF> -REAL multiplayer features (dynamic entry, teams, built-in
 JF> Internet play, etc.)
VW> anything new for modem connection?
Probably not; unless they figure out a way to allow for more than 2 people
to play in a modem game.
JF> -Coloured, realistic lighting -In-game demos (i.e. cutscenes)
 VW> Yah! :)
Yes, it's about time. Actually, intrepid Quake players have done that
already, though in a more simple form. All it really does is switch to a
well-positioned intermission view.
 JF> -Realistic aquatic areas, i.e. you're not
JF> "teleporting" when you dive in -3D acceleration! That means 16-bit
 JF> colour, smoothing, etc.
VW> You mean DN Forever requires a 3D acceleration card?
No, it won't require one (not that I know of), but it'll certainly help if
you have it.
