Hello, I'm currently using VA C++ Visual Builder on 486DX66 16M machine. It's a bit slow in loading, but the Composition Editor work fine for my small program and I find it fast enough for learning. There are so much goodies inside the package that I won't complain a bit. The way the whole framework have been designed and organized is quite remarkable for a visual programing environment, Parts Catalogs etc, I mean. I haven't figured out yet how to use the DTS (Direct-to-Som) in a application yet. I can't see the potential is really great. Not to mention most of these are available for AIX/6000, AS/400 and MVS/ESA beside Warp and PowerPC Warp. For case, I decide the package is excellent, and I'm saving some money to get another 8M than to look for any other alternatives. By the way, I also doing quite a bit of C/C++ programming for CM/2 applications. The Workframe 3.0 is slightly slower the V2.1 but a lot more user-friendly and powerful. Compilation is fast enough and the compiled code is fast enough as well. I have used Borland C++ for OS/2 V1.5 before, but found it lack of support for SOM and lack of good framework. But, for learning C/C++ programming, it is quite OK. Cheers...!
