Get a Courier and try it.  Unless you try to ring Lewin Edwards you will
probably have no problems at all (mind you Lewin has managed to connect
here and I have managed a connect with him too).

I ring my mail host twice daily and mostly get a 28,800 V.FC connection. 
My down feeds have no trouble collecting their mail.

After an initial settling in period, the new FlashRom image (Jan 95) seems
to make no difference at all.
