DS>Actually depending on the type of seal and the brand of suit that you
DS>have fixing a hole in the seals may not be that expensive or difficult.
DS>Both latex and neoprene materials come readily through any number of
DS>diving and non-diving retails outlets but you have to be sure that the
DS>particular rubber mixture on your suit is compatable with the seal
DS>repair. Check the liturature that came with the suit or call the
DS>manufacturer.
The seal is latex and is no big deal or expense to replace. Patching it
wouldn't really be a good idea. I went diving with a guy who was a
painter, my suit was in the back of his truck and got some chemical on
it that caused the seal to melt. I thought I'd gotten the bad parts
off, but apparently there was still a bit of unseen damage that took a
couple of years to show up.
I have patch stuff that came with the suit, but I'd rather replace the
seal. Thanks for the input though.
