MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05
 
      Title: Basic Yellow Cake^
 Categories: Crs97, Desserts, Cakes, Basics
      Yield: 12 Servings
 
    3/4 c  Butter, softened
  1 2/3 c  Sugar
      2    Eggs
      2 ts Vanilla
      3 c  Sifted cake flour
  2 1/2 ts Baking powder
    1/2 ts Salt
  1 1/3 c  Milk
 
  1. Preheat oven to 350°. Grease and flour 2-9" cake pans.
  
  2. Cream butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla until well combined.
  
  3. Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Add to butter mixture
  alternately with milk; beating until smooth after each addition.
  
  4. Bake in prepared pans 30 mintues or until tests clean. Cool in
  pans on wire rack 10 minutes; remove from pans and let cool
  completely on rack. Frost as desired.
