subject: strange netmail

Hi, Paul.

PE> PE> FM>> I have just received a netmail from, I think,
Europe (Germany).
PE> PE> FM>> When I got it it said "From:
3:711/934/105". Now that's strange!

PE> FM> Of course that should have been 3:711/934.105

PE>Great. It was the "." that I thought was wrong.

Sorry. :-(

PE> PE>> I looked at the code, and I don't see how that can happen. If
PE> PE>> you can reproduce the problem with PQWK230, send me an archive
PE> PE>> that will reproduce the problem and I will look into it.

PE> FM> Well it does happen. I am now using 2.30. I had erased the PKT with
PE>that
PE> FM> in but I found it on disk in the erased space and recreated the
PE>packet.
PE> FM> This may not be a totally valid packet because I may not have got all
PE>of
PE> FM> the file, but it's certainly processed OK by PKT2QWK.

PE>Yeah, I could reproduce it. Next time send me a BAT file with the
PE>PKT2QWK command in it OK?

Oh, OK. I thought you would have all that stuff.

PE> FM> With this upload is a file called netprob.zip which contains
PE>tenmin.pkt.
PE> FM> Look for a message from Thomas Sauer to me. Then run it through
PE>PKT2QWK
PE> FM> and see how it comes out.

PE>Yeah, I could reproduce it, so I fixed it.

PE> PE>> No idea. Does it happen with 2.30? BFN. Paul.

PE> FM> Sure does. Should I go back to 2.02?

PE>ROFL! That doesn't even know that the INTL exists at all.

Yeah, well the version history in PQWKnnn isn't all that specific. :-)

PE> FM> I think I know what's happened - FTS specifies the destination first,
PE> FM> followed by the origin in an INTL line. You may be inadvertently
PE>parsing
PE> FM> them in the reverse order.

PE>Sort of. I look for the first space, then I look for the
PE>second space. Unfortunately I forgot to increment the counter
PE>by 1 before looking for the second space. Fixed now. I normally

Thanks.

PE>send a new version to Brenton before releasing it to the public,
PE>but this time I sent it to both of you. When I start seeing
PE>messages from either of you with the new version I will make it
PE>generally available. Please don't give it to anyone else.

Your secret is safe with me. :-) 235 was with this mail packet, so I'll
implement it immediately. Might be a while before this specific thing
gets tested, I don't get much intl netmail.

Regards, FIM.
