AFAIK, my frontdoor never had any problems sending FREQs or FUPDs to any system
and getting the file or a notice that the file was unavailable or had not been
updated... i've never known it to send FUPDs to systems that couldn't handle
them and FREQs were always sent using the format that the remote system
supported...
