I haven't paid much attention to handheld stuff since the Apple Newton came 
out some years back. My impression of the Newton was "why do I want to pay 
the price of a full size desktop PC for something that doesn't do anything I 
can't do with a .99 cent spiral bound mini-notebook?"
I have seen some handheld devices for inventory and data-acquisition that are 
pretty slick; but they weren't cheap.......on heck of a bargain compared to 
the labor costs they saved though.....
I suspect general purpose PDA's will go the way of the dinosaur as their 
functionality gets built into other items (automobile, cell phone, 
wristwatch, etc.....)
