Just a followup on the install problem for which you gave me some
advice. I finally got it to install. The problem appeared to be the
way the "auto ide" function of the BIOS was reporting the drive
geometry.
I finally noticed that it was not showing the same values as the
Seagate docs.
Bios said:
MB = 2014
CYL = 4092
HD = 16
SEC = 63
Seagate said:
MB = 2014
CYL = 1023
HD = 64
SEC = 63
Just a note: What the bios reported was the same as Seagate listed
under "CHS addressing"
After I made the above changes it let me set any partition I wanted
"installable". After the installation was completed I noticed that the
C: partition only had 18MB free so I used Partition Magic to move
everthing 100MB to the right and resize C:. This had no ill effect on
booting OS/2, so now we are both happy.
Dumb question time. Part of your recomendation was to put parameters
on the IBM1S506.ADD driver. When I tried I got an "invalid parameter"
message on bootup. I looked at the help for it and it shows 4 slots
for parameters but you and the help only mentioned cyl/hd/sec. Whats
the fourth parameter supposed to be and are they really supposed to be
in parens (n,n,n,n)? Just curious for future reference.
