RE: .. Er, inverted speed bumps?
DC> Yea esp the older parts.

DC>> Hey is this the place to discuse the evils of
 DC>> the cement slab sidewalk.

JB> Laying it, excavating it, or surveying for its arrival, no way!
DC> It seems the city has decided that asphalt sidewalks might
 DC> be better.
DC> I like the idea as the 6-8 inch dropoffs are deadly.
DC> hey id rather drive on the sidewalk than the road anyway.

Regarding wheelchair configuration - I know you're not using one, but maybe
it's time to update devices to better deal with obstacles. Back in the day -
before my time - didn't they put the big wheel on front? I imagine there would
be a good reason to abandon that layout (Brainstorming, that the wobbly bits
would be delayed in doing their damage.) but maybe the chair itself could use
some adaptation. I'm sure I'm being altruistic, and I *know* my ignorance is
deeper than those sink-holes, but if Mohamid aint going to go to the
mountain...

DC>> Hey I have a Flyer 3 wheeled buggy and the
DC>> sidewalks are the last place I care to travel
DC>> unless im in need of a laxative effect.

 JB> That's a different story! (Likely a different echo too. P-)

DC> hehe yea my doc says i need to see a urologist for that.

Isn't his aim too fore? Seeing you are in a buggy, short of making it a
skid-steer... The neighbour said even those big balloon tires on an ATV gave
his back a workout. One thing I find essential when driving, is to use a
Palates/exercise "pancake" or a hemorrhoid type "donut"
to supplement the
vehicles' suspension. I call them my "airbags".

DC>> hey the buggy has 2 gellcel batteries running a
DC>> 24 volt motor. I can get to most everyaere here
 DC>> in this small city.

JB> Here in Calgary, we have urban sprawl in a bad way. When I dislodge the
JB> iatrogenic fibroid neuroma out of the car seat, my first goal is to find
 JB> the
JB> nearest shopping cart that I can use as a walker.
DC> I guess i dont know what your dissloging.
DC> hmm im here in a river valley city. everywhere i go
 DC> there is a hill.
DC> in those situations i use my 4 footed cane and the kids sholder
 DC> if possible.

I have nerve damage on my hip. AKA: *The* neuroma. Short of laying flat with
the knees elevated, I run the risk of the thing firing needlessly. The rub is,
I rarely notice the damage until I get secondary symptoms. Finding a
comfortable sitting position is always a compromise, and the worst is getting
in and out of a chair. Wheelchair ramps, and accessible parking is of little
help when I have to cart the Caracas 1/4 mile to a meeting.
