YM> One of my most pleasing achievements of late is a complete SOM class library for PM, that I wrote and compiled into a DLL using MetaWare High C++ 3.32 for OS/2 and DirectToSOM C++. What is particularly pleasing is that it is the first medium-scale DTS C++ class library that I have implemented for use with multiple compilers. By the simple expedient of #including the header file and linking to the import library for the DLL I can also use the library in applications compiled with IBM VisualAge C++ 3.01. DTS C++ compares very well in this respect with the "normal" state of affairs with C++, where I would have to recompile the entire library for each C++ compiler that I wished to use. My class library is implemened in MetaWare High C++, and doesn't require any recompilation or relinking to be used from IBM VisualAge C++. Although I'm not greatly bothered by it personally, for the sake of many others I do hope that Watcom sees the light soon, and adds DirectToSOM C++ ability to its C++ compiler as well. > JdeBP < ___ X MegaMail 2.10 #0: --- Maximus/2 3.00* Origin: DoNoR/2,Woking UK (44-1483-725167) (2:440/4) SEEN-BY: 270/101 620/243 711/401 409 410 413 430 807 808 809 934 955 712/407 SEEN-BY: 712/515 517 628 713/888 800/1 7877/2809 @PATH: 440/4 141/209 270/101 712/515 711/808 809 934 |
