You just need to add the ones your going to be getting. You don't need a
directory for each area if you don't want to have a lot of directories. I
put nodediff, nodelist, fidonews and a few others like that in the same
directory.

I'm connected to all (or at least most of) the filegate areas but there are
a lot of areas that haven't had any traffic for a long time, so I don't
create any new areas on the BBS until I need to. If you get files in an
area you don't have configured the tics won't get tossed anywhere, they'll
stay in your inbound or badtic dir if you have one.

No, unless your sending files on down the line, it'll just be your uplink you
have configured.
