I don't believe a separate compiler will be required.
Watcom should be able to compile C code just fine.
There may be a switch or setup variable necessary to
distinguish between C and C++ source code.
most compilers use a .C extension for C programs and a
.CPP extension for C++ programs, and the compiler knows
what to do with the code based on the file extension.
I would not be surprised to find that Watcom does the same.
