I remember ice storms like that from my life in Ontario 40 years ago but we
never see them here.  But our cold spell is in into its fourth week and it
is boring.

Freezing rain does nothing for anyone's peace of mind either on the road or
on the runway.  But we have a different problem.  One carrier uses
equipment which does not work too well below -30.  Passengers scheduled on
that carrier tend not to get here.  Fortunately the other carrier that
connects us to Vancouver, B. C. flies Boeing 737s which don't mind flying
at -37 or so.
