subject: MS Windows 7 and DOS games/apps

I am wondering if anyone knows details yet on what Windows 7 WILL let you
do in DOS command windows, and what it WON'T let you do. Specifically, can
one run door games like DOS LORD on a system running MS Windows 7? Can you
run old programs for business applications that some of us might still use,
such as DBASE III+, Supercalc, Wordstar, or Wordperfect?

I read a lot about Windows 7 on the PC World site from time to time. But
not one person ever talks about what the O.S. will let you do if you are
used to spending time in DOS working on stuff - like DOS Pascal programming
for example.

I know I heard a long time ago, 4 or so years, from Daryl Stout that Vista
was completely lousy about support of DOS programs like the LORD game.
Since Win7 is built like Vista as a 32-bit O.S. all the way, how is it
about running 16-bit DOS applications or 16-bit Windows apps that might
date back to Win95 or that were designed for WinXP?

Thanks for info. I also wonder if anyone who is into BBSing would ever
spend money on a Windows 7 based computer system. Donald
