Mulling over PETER COGGON to STEVE ASHER 22 Apr 2009 Hello Peter, PC> At the thought of thought police in England, and your posting I PC> am reminded by posting by a judge retired, of the same. PC> seems to be normal in response to International Terrorism but it PC> also has impacted the UK as a whole, as my learned friend has PC> pointed out to me. PC> I am going to forward to him your text .... and allow him to reply PC> if he desires through me. Thank you, I would be interested in his reply. PC> Interesting posting, but then before it happened over here PC> my friend also posted about the London Buses having signs PC> on them proclaiming.... PC> "GOD doesn't Exist...Now you can get on with your lifes!" It is (or was) an advertising campaign, and a number of US cities have "Why Islam?" adverts promoting islam as a "religion of peace". It puts the bus company in a quandary - do they censor such things, or allow them as free speech, and in the case of the British buses there were objections from some drivers over being assigned to drive buses which contradicted their faith. Britain is accommodating its muslim minority, while repressing its (professing) Christian majority - banning "Saint George" parades, renaming Christmas as Winterval, serving halal food to all children in some schools, not having "piggy banks" in bank branches because it "offends" the minority, and so on.
