| subject: | MFC port to OS/2 |
Hallo Patrick, Patrick Cuyegkeng schreef dit aan Mike Bilow: PC> Windows applications to OS/2, not that it is hard with Borland products as PC> the Windows and the OS/2 version are code compatible. Hmm, they TRIED to make it code compatible. BC++4.5 Win comes with OWL2.5, BC++2.0 OS/2 with OWL2.0. Code generated with 4.5's AppExpert are rejected by the OS/2 version. Once a unmodified sample prog. crashed. Great for confidence. The BUTTONX sample pops up a Messagebox if you (un)check a CheckBox ( or a RadioButton, don't known for sure), unless you're using the OS/2 version. I called Borland's Helpdesk and asked them if they intend to release OWL2.5 for OS/2. The answer was : "Sorry sir, we don't support OS/2". I gently put down the phone, cursed and ordered IBM VAC++. I use BC++/2 strictly for quick'n dirty textmode programs because it compiles VERY FAST.
