On 01 Apr 97, David Lentz was hit by a Mark Wohlers fastball, and then said:

If they keep them all year, that leaves AJ on the bench, less of a player
(especially at leadoff) in CF than Lofton, and one less lefty in the bullpen.
It also would prevent them from talking to Glavine and Maddux until they
probably became free agents (now they can work on extensions, if possible).
And there's no guarantee they could have gotten anything for Justice (injury
prone) and Grissom (his career year was LAST year and he's no spring chicken)
at the end of the season.
Somehow, I just don't see how the Braves are so much worse off.
