G'day Bill,

On 22-02-95 07:33, Bill Grimsley said to Jeff Green

JG>> Seems to (see below though). I just sent another one that

JG>> was over the 8192 bytes mark, so I don't see how it could be

JG>> the modems not talking correctly.

 BG> Neither do I.

I quickly scanned a message from Paul that mentioned CTS/RTS. I'll have to
have a proper look at everything when I get some time.

JG>> I even tried sticking the file in a message packet once :-)

 BG> Worth a try though.

I thought so :-)

BG> I wonder if it's that specific file itself (can't imagine why

BG> though). Have you tried sending anything else?

Not to Paul but I do remember trying to send a file a year or so a go to
someone. I recall that it died with a similar message. I didn't look into
it any further then.

JG>> 2.56 (with 'error' or 'transfer cancelled') and 2.50 (with

JG>> 'transfer cancelled'). The transfer cancelled on the 2.56

JG>> version occured the other day.

BG> More or less eliminates Bink as the problem then.

I'd have to agree with that. Gotta be the way my modem or serial port is setup.

BG> You might also try placing a MODE command as the first line in

BG> your BT.CMD batch file, as follows...

 BG> MODE COM2:38400,N,8,1,DTR=OFF,RTS=HS,OCTS=ON,TO=ON,XON=OFF,BUFFER=ON

I'm sure I tried that but I'll give it another go and have a closer look at
the results when I get the time.

BG> The other thing I'd be doing is unzipping the offending file,

BG> re-archiving it, and maybe even renaming it to something else. I

BG> doubt that'll help, but you have to cover all possibilities

 BG> now.

Tried all that. I was getting desperate and figured that it was worth the try :-)
