My point exactly. The role of the medical assessment as I see it is to
inform someone of the potential risks so that they can make informed
descisions regarding the risks. A study of pilots was done sometime
during WWII that showed that pilots who had families and children made
worse combat pilots due to their unwillingness to take certain risks
that went with the trade. I don't know what this fellow's situation is,
and we certainly don't really know what his medical situation is, but
I'm sure that if he has a family he, hopefully, would take their
feeelings into account when he makes his decisions about diving or
anything else.
