subject: A file security question

Hello,

One of my customers would like to protect some files on his OS/2 systems.
More precisely, he would like to limit the access to data files only to
some specific application programs. He is not looking for military grade
security, he just wants to prevent the average user to tamper with the
files.

I have three questions

1 - is there, on the market, a product that is able to do that ? I have
looked at at few programs and haven't found a solution ...

2 - is there anyone here that has developed something similar but hasn't
released it commercially ? If this is the case, please contact me ASAP,
some collaboration between you and my company may be possible.

3 - what is the cleanest way to program something like this under OS/2 ?
Under DOS, I'd write a TSR or Device Driver that hooks all of the int 21h
files functions and monitors all the accesses to the critical files, only
letting through applications in an "autorization table". Under
OS/2, if I write a device driver to lock the critical files, how do I grant
access to the applications ? - modifying the application is, of course, out
of the question - Any suggestion appreciated.
