Ah, so it's not on the same network segment as the PDC right?
Sometimes when you run into that the easiest way to get it to see the PDC
is to physically move the machine to the same hub as the PDC, make it join
the domain (they have to see each other then) and then move it back
wherever you want it. It can also be done with lmhosts but for some reason
I've seen that not work at times depending on what is segmenting the
network.
