| subject: | Panasonic TC2970S television stereo |

This may seem like a very dumb question (but from practical experience I assure you it isn't), but you are not relying on the LED stereo indicator to tell you it is in stereo are you ? Because if you are you are fooling youself, as this indicator is activated by the stereo decoder in the TV tuner/IF, and this gets bypassed when using the AV inputs. You'll be getting a stereo output ok, but you'll not have the LED to tell you so. (I dunno why, but far too many people rely on this LED rather than their EARS to determine if it is stereo or not - and IMO stereo is wasted on such people anyway). Oh, FWIW, if you hook up your HI-FI VCR to the TV using just the RF cable you'll NOT get Stereo from it at all, as TTBOMK all RF converters used in VCR's are only mono anyway.
