BV> No it's not. Telix displays a message prompting you to press any jey

PE> After such a bold assertion, I decided to try it out myself, and

Hmmm...I wonder if there is a difference with a "linked script" ?
Remember that TPoint does not use a "linked script" but instead it
invokes a script at load time. The script then does the dialling.
Another possibility could be the version of Telix. From memory you
are using 3.15 is that correct ? I have 3.2sumfin and I'm sure that
the other guys are using the same version as I am. This could be the
real culprit.

PE> From distant memory, I think when I originally started writing
PE> logon scripts I used to add an "alarm" function to the end of
PE> them to wake me up when I had logged on.

Trust me Paul, the "alarm" thing has _nothing_ to do with it.

BL>> That too... there is a fairly long wait after the upload, before
BL>> Telix moves on to the download. Brenton puts something like: "Now
BL>> we'll see if there is any fucking stuff for us..." on the screen, and
BL>> it waits 3 seconds (say) before that happens. Then it waits another
BL>> couple of seconds before it actually starts.
BV> That is Pauls end. I _think_ that Pauls end is also responsible for
BV> the wait which we see sometimes before the transfer to us completes.

PE> I don't know about the bit on the end, I haven't looked at that
PE> yet, but there is more to the 2*3-second delays than just "blame
PE> Paul", as you can see by people using Binkley, there is no
PE> delay like you see with Tinypoint. I think the problem is more
PE> likely to be with Binkley et al using Zmodem-extensions...

I didn't mean it to sound like a "just blame Paul" line, as I know
that the slight delay at the start is not your problem. Similarly,
the problem with the last block could also be inside Telix, I don't
really know. Although it seems to happen more often with TML and is
quite infrequent with other BBSs'.

FWIW, it's no good sending me any logs. I can't make heads nor tails
out of them. I guess if I actually read it, it might be a start though :)

Regards, Brenton
