I just thought of this while reading your reply: the basic "check for mail" 
.mec is:
 [white]Do you wish to check for mail [[Y,n]? [gray menu]yn|
 [choice]n[quit]
 [msg_checkmail]
So why not modify the above so that instead of just invoking the 
[msg_checkmail] keyword, we add .mec code to invoke Browse instead? Set it up 
to Browse/read/new messages addressed to you.  Then we add Browse/read/new 
messages addressed to "All".
Whaddya think?
