Hello Steve, >SA>Hehe, when are you going to ban someone and then come whining >SA>to the sysop - you could ban me for starters, & get me to cut >SA>my feed (or toenails or something). >LL>You forget, Cajuns have been living in exile for centuries, >LL>and banned by the Queen of England from ever returning to their >LL>beloved Acadia. :) SA>Acadia might be worth returning to, but I wouldn't want to return SA>to Britain - too much like the dying husk of a great empire now. Oh, I dunno. England is okay, but the food is lousy. Scotland is great. And Ireland is still, well, Ireland. Caused a rue some years ago between the Brits and the Irish (as if that was possible) over food. Actually, it was the Scots who caused the rue, not me. But I was the main instigator, albeit indirectly. As a pianist, I work with singers from time to time. She was a Rhodes scholar, studying at Oxford, and had many friends in Scotland. She loved my food creation (frozen fried snickers bars), and shared it with her friends. As such things go, they absolutely loved those goodies, and my recipe spread like wildfire. This particular recipe became especially popular among the Scots, as they were the first to have sampled the creation (aside from the original creator (myself) and the singer). The Irish got mad about it, thinking it was some kind of British conspiracy to invade Ireland, and created their own version - subsituting mars bars in place of snickers bars. Here is the recipe on how to make those scrumptiously delicious frozen fried snickers bars - Put some snickers bars in the freezer, and freeze them solid. Cut frozen snickers bars into slices or small chunks. Dip slices/chunks of frozen snickers bars in batter, roll in fish fry, and deep fry to golden brown. Serve warm. And try not to eat too many, else you become fat as a blimp. >JO>Are there rules? >LL>If you want to know what the Rule of One is, >LL>the secret is revealed in the tv show M*A*S*H - >LL>"There are two rules of war. >LL>Rule number one is that young men die. >LL>Rule number two is that doctors can't change rule number one." >LL>Now that you know what the Rule is, you are expected to OBEY! >SA>Ther is another rule, revealed in the movie Breaker Morant: >SA>Rule .303 - "We shot them under Rule .303!" >LL>The film is a beautiful anti-war statement, making the point that >LL>human beings should always be respectfully (and sometimes >LL>non-respectfully) suspicious of their motivations. >LL>For those not familiar with the film, Morant's "Rule 303" is a >LL>reference to the Lee Enfield .303 rifle issued at the time the >LL>story took place (early 20th Century in South Africa). Morant's >LL>meaning was he shot the prisoners because he had the means to do so >LL>(rifles in hand) and that was all the authority he needed. SA>That clip is in YouTube - search on "rule 303" or Breaker Morant to view. Yeah. And the movie is a cult classic. >LL>Speaking of bullets - >LL>Take a load of this pen - >LL>http://www.spacepen.com/375bulletspacepen.aspx >LL>This is an actual .375 H & H Mag Shell, made into a working ink >LL>pen. SA>Good value for $US25 - the $800 astronaut space pen is a bit much SA>to add to my pen collection... There is a less expensive version of the astronaut pen, which I have. However, having actually met all three astronauts of Apollo 11 is priceless. Not to mention a picture of them, autographed by all three astronauts - Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins, and Buzz Aldrin. (item not for sale) >LL>On the web site, there is an important notice - SA>The pen is mightier than the sword. One of the problems early astronauts (and cosmonauts) had was what to write with when in space. The Russians were so concerned about the possibility of pens exploding that they used pencils. But soon changed their minds when they began to realize that lead breaks into tiny pieces and can float around everyplace in a weightless environment. --Lee * SLMR 2.1a * BE SAFE. MAKE $.
