Back in the time of yore the group news.announce.newusers was active and no newsreader allowed anyone to unsub from it. That group posted the rules for UseNet. Long since unenforcable, but the rules continue to exist. > I do however agree with the snippage of stuff. The rules as posted to NAN mandated snipping. They did not mandate context sensative posting (the style I generally use), bottom posting (which is posting at the bottom devoid of context effects) or top posting. The interesting part is why there's no mention - Go back to the time when those posts were authored and search all you like before that time. You won't find a single top-post in any archive of that age. No one had even *thought* of top posting back then. Still, it doesn't matter. Trim properly and don't be bothered by the folks complaining about top posting. --- SBBSecho 2.12-Win32* Origin: Time Warp of the Future BBS - Home of League 10 (1:14/400) SEEN-BY: 633/267 5030/786 @PATH: 14/400 261/38 123/500 379/1 633/267 |
