G'day Bill,
On 01-03-95 21:18, Bill Grimsley said to Jeff Green
JG>> I quickly scanned a message from Paul that mentioned CTS/RTS.
I'll have to
JG>> have a proper look at everything when I get some time.
BG> Shit, I'd assumed already that you'd have hardware flow control
BG> enabled. That's &K3 in Netcomm modems, BTW. If it isn't already
BG> set, do it now!
Yeah, it was set. AFA I can remember, it's been set that way for years. I
was just a bit worried that with all the screwing around with this problem
I've done lately, I may have changed it.
Bit of a bummer really. It would've been a nice easy fix too :-)
JG>> I'd have to agree with that. Gotta be the way my modem or serial
JG>> port is setup.
BG> Yep, it's almost certainly your modem IMO. I believe that
BG> Netcomm also have a setting which is called auto or fail-safe
BG> flow control, or something like that, probably &K9 if I recall
BG> correctly. Needless to say, this doesn't work properly, and &K3
BG> is absolutely mandatory.
It's been &K3 for years.
BG>> MODE COM2:38400,N,8,1,DTR=OFF,RTS=HS,OCTS=ON,TO=ON,XON=OFF,BUFFER=ON
JG>> I'm sure I tried that but I'll give it another go and have a
JG>> closer look at the results when I get the time.
BG> Do it anyway, like right now! Exactly as entered above. Other
BG> stuff may screw around with your settings, so having it in BT.CMD
BG> makes sure that you automatically set up the comms port each time
BG> you start Binkley.
I have tried that in the past, but I'll give it another go just to be
certain. I haven't got time at the moment to muck around with it properly
(parties to attend you understand) but I'll stick it in the .cmd file and
then check out the logs later.
