I listen to music of the '70's, as do my parents, but we certainly ain't
listening to the same music of the seventies. While my mother likes
Creedence, Steppenwolf, Cat Stevens, The Doobie Brothers, etc., i prefer King
Crimson, Magma, Yes, ELP, FM, and such. All people at home listen to quite
different music. i would then be rebelling from my sister, my father, and my
mother, while my sister is rebelling from my father, my mother, and me, and
my mother would be rebelling mostly from us... :-)
My parents didn't know the doors. i listened to them.
My parents didn't listen to babe ruth anymore. i rediscovered them.
My mother didn't listen that much to creedence anymore, until i listened to
them; only then she started that fandom thing over again, & bought all their
discs.
i think i could say i am the least conservative person (musically) here.
that's rebellious enough to me. (I don't care much for lyrics anymore)
btw, i listen to lots of 90's and 80's and 60's music as well.
