who ever said that zones (and obviously regions in Z2) are to amplify
cultural differences??

zones and regions are mearly nodelist administrative pieces of the whole
network... they were created mainly to ease the generation and updating of
the nodelist and the assigning of nodenumbers to new members... where have
you gotten any other ideas about that??
