Can anyone give me a good explination of how the window word works. (In WinRegisterClass). I have read thatit is useful because it cuts down on global varables. OK, but how is it done? There is only four ways to store data in a C program (C++ as well I believe). Local varables, global varables, static varables (same as global I think), and on the heap. Could it be that the window word is really a static varable with a hidden pointer passed to each function much lke the hidden pointer 'this' in C++?
