Hi Dave--
Your set of compiler options is almost the same as mine, with a few
additions, which I will consider. Unlike you, I am using the "cheap"
Personal Edition of the PL/I compiler, so some of your options do not
apply. I use both NOT options: the OS/2 '^' form and the alternate
EBCDIC 'not' sign (to fit with the Include-files provided), although I
use '^' in my own programs.
I assume you have found the bugs in the PLITK NEWCPY include files.
teampli has acknowledged that they exist in PLITK CSD#1, and they will
be fixed in the forthcoming PLITK CSD#2. I have the Personal Edition
CSD#4 installed; according to teampli support, CSD#5 for the personal
edition does not yet exist, although it is due "real soon now." I do
not know whether CSD#5 will include the ability to compile and link
standalone programs. If you have it for your Professional Edition, you
will know.
In case you have been out of touch too long, Christie Nieuwsma seems
to have vanished from teampli{at}vnet.ibm.com. Relatively recent messages
have been signed by Carolyn Phoa-Ting. Service is still excellent.
Technical question: I have been unable to find a PL/I construct
equivalent to the REXX CHARIN() (e.g., no required), other than to
build one from the KBDCharin() API call. Any suggestions?
Glad to have you back.
