Yoo Hoo, GINO!
On June 17th '97 you wrote to me:
GH> I have a question. What are Michael's favorite Disney movies?
Our toddler son is a fan of "short attention-span theatre". He likes the
live-action series of Sing-A-Long videos that take place at Disneyland and
WDW: Disneyland Fun/It's a Small World, Beach Party and Camping Out.
Folks get the Sing-A-Longs that have to do with cartoons and animated
features, but we found our son likes to see other real life kids. There
is also a Sing-A-Long that is about a circus, done in conjunction with
Ringling Brothers an dBarnum and Bailey Circus. All the live action ones
are outstanding in entertainment value and production quality for the
whole family, and glimpses of the theme parks when you are aching to go
to them can't hurt either! ;-)
GH> What are your favorite Disney movies?
Of the classic ones when Walt was still alive, I like Fantasia and
Sleeping Beauty. Of the more recent ones, it's hard to pick: I like
Beauty and the Beast, Lion King and I liked Hunchback a great deal.
GH> Are you excited to see Hercules?
It looks to me that Hercules might have a decent shot at a Top 5 Summer
Film position, judging that Jurassic Park: Lost World has to lose speed
sooner or later and Batman and Robin are being panned by the critics
and by people who see it. I think the surprise of the summer might be
that the current new Julia Roberts film will bring 'em in and that
Hercules will pack 'em in more than expected. Audiences need a light
comedy film to combat all the high tech (and over-hype) of Batman and
Lost World. All the hype clips of Hercules look intriguing and James
Woods as Hades sounds like a hoot.
Just a week to go... of course some saw Hercules at special previews
this weekend. Just remember to put a "spoiler" and some blank space
if you choose to discuss Hercules in a way that might spoil it for
others if they haven't seen it yet. Thanks. :-)
