There may still be some interest, even for an informal document. There
was high traffic in the FTSC_PUBLIC echo a few months ago, so perhaps
you can generate some interest. A new FTSC was elected in early
January, and the FTSC Administrator in late March, and it is functional. :-)

I think if it was dead none of us would be here. I don't refute that
much of the enthusiasm for FidoNet development has disappeared in the
last couple of years, but some of us are still working on "dead"
software occasionally, eg. timEd was ported to UNIX and BeOS recently,
and there is a fair bit of open source development still going on here
and there for other FidoNet software, eg. BinkD & the Husky project.
I'm not sure I agree with the clinging analogy. Most of the FidoNet
people I talk to are quite familiar with Internet technologies and are
adapting to their use. But they are still happy to use FidoNet for as
long as it is useful.
