The Writers Guild may have had their reasons but this article is silly.

Seven years of TNG are reduced to three words while TOS is lauded for a 
line that never was heard in the series. Stupid.

Is "A hundred quatloos on the newcomers" really considered a great, 
quotable line?

Of course, it's easier to pick great lines from TOS.  Only 79 episodes 
repeated endlessly for almost 20 years before TNG premiered.

Obviously, this "writer" (and I use the term loosely) is a TOS geek with 
an agenda.  "Make it so" is pure mush?  What does he want Picard to say? 
"Just do it"?

Good writing is more than catch phrases. Otherwise "Get Smart" is a 
better-written series than TOS.
