When I bought my modem a year and a half ago, I was persuaded by the price -
after rebate, and the promise of a free upgrade to x2.
So I bought a Sportster 33.6 Faxmodem and sent in for the rebate.
Six months later, I got a letter saying I wouldn't get the rebate because I
didn't send in my receipt. I did send it in, but I no longer qualify because
I don't have the stuff which I sent in anymore.
I got on the e-mail list for upgrades to X2. I got an e-mail last week
telling me how to get the free upgrade. It directed me to a web page where I
found out that I could send in my modem along with $70 for a free upgrade.
Well, I just wanted the upgrade for future growth - my providers are 28000,

I am not going to spend $70 and give up my modem for an unknown amount of
ime
for my "free" upgrade. Hopefully modems will be obsolete in the near future.
Does USR lie to everybody?
