subject: no dialtone

Today I saw a problem. My modem went to dial Dave (has been
doing this every 3 minutes since 6am) and I could see the AA
light go on, meaning there was an incoming call. The result?
My modem didn't see a dialtone, so returned with "NO DIALTONE".
The person who called me wasted their call. What I really
want is for a "NO DIALTONE" to trigger a "ANSWER THE FUCKING
THING". You know, I think I can probably do that, because I
can't actually hang up on the caller can I? So long as they
stay on the line, it will give my software a chance to say
"whoops, let's see if we can get them again", and send an
ATA to the modem??? BFN. Paul.
