-> Can anybody give me a _* complete *_ how to guide on networking Windows
-> 3.11 and Windows95 together in a peer-to-peer environment?
-> One computer is a 486/Dx2/66 with 16 megs ram and a 170 meg hd
-> running windows 3.11 with an intel etherexpress 16 nic.
->
-> The other is a 486/dx4/160 with 24megs ram and a 520meg hd running
-> Windows95 4.00.950 B, using an SMC EtherElite 16 nic.
-> I need step-by-step instructions ...
I don't think that's possible in the context of a fidonet message base. You
would need a minimum of Windows for Workgroups 3.11, as Windows 3.11 doesn't
have built in networking (Windows 3.11 and Windows for Workgroups 3.11 are
not the same windows). I don't think you can even buy Windows for Workgroups
anymore, but If you do the compact install you can get Windows 95 on your
486-66 in 20-25meg of hard drive space. 16 meg of RAM is fine.
-> Any help?
Go to your bookstore and buy Windows Unleashed and read it or if this is
not a hobbiest's computer system and/or you put a value on your time, you
ought to just hire some one who works for cheep to come in and set it up for
you. Not rocket science so you don't have to pay for a big buck network guy,
and shouldn't take more than an hour or two, and you can learn from that
