quoting Kenneth Newman to John Mccann
on the subject Gentle Giant (etc)
JM> (Any info on Black Widow? - I only have Sacrifice)
KN>
KN> Whodat?
I am not sure if they are on topic - seem to be into the Black Magic
stuff on Sacrifice - there is also an album called Black Widow III!!!
JM> ... Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch
KN> Gesundheit.
Yes the little town with the big name on Angelsea, N Wales
KN> So give us a rundown on Welsh prog.
Not sure I can help much as it all happens in the South (Cardiff,
Swansea) - I live in "Sunny" Rhyl up in North Wales.
The Welsh bands I am aware of are Manic Street Preachers and Super
Furry Animals (at least my coleagues at work mention them) SFA tend to
do bilingual gigs.
We have a TV station which gives a lot of
programming in Welsh and some of the bands are not bad.
BTW I used to have Man - "live at the Paget Rooms, Penarth" but again
unsure of the discography.
I am presently trying to collect older music reissued on CD - eg Ten
Years After, Atomic Rooster, Curved Air, George Formby (oops off topic!)
and of course GG now.
Hope I have been of some help.
