The Gorbals is an area of Glasgow. But I suppose there was a time you
had to have your testicles well protected when you visited there (-:

Yes, Fish (or Derek William Dick to his mum) was born in Dalkeith which
is near Edinburgh. He now lives in Haddington (near Edinburgh) and runs
Dick Brothers Record Co and Studios.
I suppose the other notable Scottish prog bands are Jethro Tull (whose
leader Ian Anderson is Scottish) and Pallas (from Aberdeen) who were
signed to EMI UK just after Marillion and released two albums on that
label (Atlantis and Knight's Wedge). There have also been notable Scots
in other Prog bands (Francis Lickerish in The Enid).
You could also stretch the point and include B.A. Robertson's
involvement in Mike + The Mechanics, but I think the point might break
being stretched that far (-:
